Colorado as Seen From the Window of a Moving Car

Last month, I was all over the state of Colorado from Denver to Colorado Springs to Estes Park to Aspen to the Great Sand Dunes. One day, I left Estes Park at 4 AM, drove back to Colorado Springs, then left for Aspen. Another day, I left Aspen around 6 AM, drove four hours south to the Great Sand Dunes, three hours up to Colorado Springs, and then another hour up to Denver. Spending so much time in the car isn't problematic in Colorado with stunning scenery at every turn. Here is a photo journal of some of sights seen from the window of a moving car. (Disclaimer: these were taken when someone else was driving! We switched drivers on and off!)

The mountains around Independence Pass were still snow-covered!

We had to stop for two large elk to cross the road in Estes Park.

In a region where everything is named in Spanish, this road translates to "The Vein" and goes between the Sangre de Cristo and San Juan mountains.
