"Deer Butt" Sushi, Adventures at Whole Foods, and Frozen PB Banana Flax Cereal Bowl Recipe11/3/2014 I used to think it was stupid when people just posted photos of food. However, my Pinterest addiction has led to reading lots of vegan and vegetarian cooking blogs. I blame the post you are about to read (or not, if I have scared you off...but, please stay with me through this post!) on the crazy amounts of time I have spent reading such blogs lately. Also, if you are curious as to how that astronomy homework is coming, I have an update: I figured out the first step, but no further. I should probably finish that before class tomorrow. However, blogging is much more enticing at the moment. ![]() Tonight, I went out to dinner for half price sushi. It was ridiculously crowded so it took over an hour to get our sushi. Our waitress actually brought us our mochi green tea ice cream before our sushi, since it was taking so long! Having ice cream first was fine by me since mochi green tea ice cream is my favorite food in the entire world. I ordered the "deer butt" sushi, which consists of avocado, sweet potato, asparagus tempura, shitake mushroom, and pine nuts. It was definitely worth the long wait! ![]() After sushi, I went to Whole Foods. I try to limit my trips to Whole Foods since I inevitably forget to buy half of what I actually need and end up buying $60 of randomness instead. I just happen to really like Whole Foods and always have a marvelous time pacing through the aisles, indecisively trying to shop. The only negative experience I ever had at Whole Foods was when I came down with the stomach flu in the parking lot, but that's another story! So, the first $15 which I spent/wasted was on papaya with lime (top), berries and mango (which I will likely eat in one sitting), and grapes (bottom). ![]() To the left are some more items from my shopping trip. In case you are wondering: no, I don't think anyone actually cares what I bought grocery shopping. However, I really do not feel like starting that astronomy homework! I finally purchased coconut oil and pesto to try in recipes. This whole new thing where I actually cook is getting quite fun. I'm also really excited about the sweetened green tea matcha powder! ![]() Oh, yes, and to show you just how badly I do not wish to do that homework, here is a photo of the four kinds of beans that I purchased. They were on sale for $0.99 (not that you likely care about that either). Okay, so how about that recipe? ![]() Frozen PB Banana Flax Cereal Bowl Inspired Loosely by Chocolate Covered Katie 1 frozen banana 2 TBSP peanut butter (best when frozen with banana) 1/2 cup almond milk 1/2 cup cereal (I used Van's Honey Nut Crunch) 1 TSP flax seed Blend first three ingredients until smooth. Then, top with cereal and flax. Enjoy! I have had that "Whole Foods Parking Lot" rap song stuck in my head this entire post. That will be lovely to fall asleep to. Daylight Savings Time really throws off my biological clock. Though I couldn't fall asleep until after 2 AM last night, I feel wide awake at the moment. I suppose it is finally time to do that homework! Major kudos if you read this whole post!

That roll sounds amazing! I love sweet potato and avocado rolls (separately) but mixing them together with other veggie goodies and a nutty crunch sounds great!
