![]() Happy Friday night! AKA my homework night! (Actually which night isn't a homework night?) As you can see, I'm making quite great progress on my astronomy homework. Writing my name was a real challenge... Needless to say, my inability to even begin something with numbers on it crosses any career with math or science (or, worse, both) off my list. An ignorant English major, I thought astronomy would be pointing out pretty constellations out in the glittering night sky...definitely not a combination of physics, chemistry, and math. I also didn't realize the observatory was outside and that I would have to take an elevator to reach it. I have an irrational hatred for elevators and always feel the need to express that hatred every lab night! Anyway, at least I got quite a bit of English and creative writing homework done tonight. Careers two, three, and four I will never have: pastry chef, photographer, or cleaning lady. The past few days I've tried multiple recipes from Chocolate Covered Katie (http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/). In the process, I have managed to: give myself a blister by burning a finger (come to think of it, touching a ramekin that just came out of a 380 degree oven probably wasn't my smartest moment), think I forgot to turn off said oven and come darting home between classes to check (which actually turned out to be a false alarm), and completely trash my kitchen multiple times! I also realized I am incapable of cooking anything aesthetically pleasing. As long as the end product is healthy and tasty, I don't mind, but it's definitely not looking promising for a career as a pastry chef or photographer!
